CHICAGO — A two-time convicted gun offender is facing another round of gun charges after the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said he spent “months” posting videos and pictures of guns he wanted to sell online.

Investigators secured a search warrant and recently raided Evans’ home in Country Club Hills. As the raid unfolded, Evans, 25, bolted out the back door, partially clothed in cold weather, prosecutors said in a detention petition. The cops caught him nearby with the keys to a BMW in his hand.

The car, parked in his driveway, had two firearms in the trunk, officials said: a 7.62 Micro Draco and a PAK-9. In court filings, officials said the police found ammunition, three drum magazines, a rifle magazine, more than 30 grams of cannabis, and $900 cash inside his home.

Judge Mary Marubio detained Evans on charges of repeated possession of a firearm by a felony offender and manufacturing and delivering cannabis.

Prosecutors told Marubio that Evans was convicted of gun cases filed in 2017 and 2019. He was also convicted of misdemeanor escape in 2020 and 2018, they said.
