A 15-year-old boy is charged with armed robbery after Chicago cops scooped him up minutes after a man was robbed in Bucktown on Tuesday evening. He may also be linked to an armed carjacking that occurred in Humboldt Park just a few minutes earlier.
In Bucktown, a 21-year-old man was robbed by three males who confronted him in the 1700 block of North Paulina around 8:14 p.m. A CPD spokesperson said the robbers hit the man from behind, implied they had guns, and took his valuables.
Officers searched the area for three Black males wearing masks, one of whom was wearing a green hoodie, another a pink hoodie, and the third a black hoodie. Officers arrested the one wearing a pink hoodie in the 1700 block of West North Avenue and charged him with the holdup. The other two got away.
About ten minutes before the Bucktown mugging, a 58-year-old man was carjacked in Humboldt Park. He told police he was walking toward his parked vehicle when two males approached him, displayed guns, and demanded the keys to his Ford F-150, a CPD spokesperson said.
The hijackers forced the man to lie on the ground and ordered him not to look at them. Nonetheless, he told police the robbers were a Black male and a Hispanic male, both about 15 years old.
