A gunman injured two CTA passengers by firing shots into a bus in Portage Park late Sunday night, according to Chicago police. He remains on the loose.

The shooter was on a westbound bus in the 4800 block of West Belmont when he got into an argument with another man around 11:46 p.m. Police said the gunman stepped off the bus and then fired shots at the man he had been arguing with.

The 40-year-old victim suffered gunshot wounds to his abdomen and leg. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair condition.

A 22-year-old man on the bus was also shot, police said. EMS took him to Community First Hospital in good condition with a grazed wound to his ankle.

Witnesses said the gunman fled the scene on foot. He was described as a Black man with long black hair wearing a white hoodie or shirt with dark pants.
