A 34-year-old man was wounded during what police are investigating as a possible robbery attempt in the South Loop early Sunday morning.
According to Chicago police, the shooting occurred around 4:40 a.m. on November 23 in a parking lot on the 1900 block of South Wabash Avenue. The victim was sitting inside a parked vehicle when four men approached in a black Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows and began firing toward him. He was struck in the right arm and shoulder area.
The driver of the vehicle sped away from the lot and flagged down a Chicago police officer near Jackson Boulevard and Columbus Drive a few minutes later. The officer applied a tourniquet and QuickClot to control the victim’s bleeding before paramedics transported him to Northwestern Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
CPD did not release any suspect descriptions.
