A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot eight times in Uptown on Tuesday night. He is the third person to be shot in that neighborhood since last Thursday.

Police said the man was standing in the 4500 block of North Clarendon when shots rang out around 9:35 p.m. He found his way to nearby Weiss Hospital, but they transferred him to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center due to the severity of his wounds.

Last night’s gunman is described as a black man in his 20’s who was wearing a pink or orange hat, a royal blue shirt, and blue jeans with green and white plaid boxer shorts.

Cops are following several strong leads this morning, and multiple sources stated that the shooting is likely related to another shooting last Thursday outside the Uptown McDonald’s, 1004 West Wilson.

The McDonald’s victim is a documented gang member, convicted felon, and drug dealer who is known to the neighborhood, according to a source.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
