Man Robbed Aboard CTA Train At Addison, 3 In Custody

The Addison Red Line station | Sub Chat

Three suspects are in custody following an armed robbery this afternoon aboard a Red Line train near the Addison Station.

The victim told a 911 operator that three men were trying to rob him at knifepoint and witnesses reported hearing the man screaming for the robbers to get away from him as he struggled for control of his cellphone, apparently as the 911 call was in progress.

Cops searching for the offenders were directed by a witness to three men who were standing at the corner of Sheridan and Dakin, just south of the nearby Sheridan station.

The three were detained and are now facing charges after being identified by a witness.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
