Our Sunday report about a creepy Peeping Tom who may be responsible for a series of twisted voyeuristic crimes on the North Side reminded one reader of a video he saw posted on a local neighborhood security cam site.
The video, recorded on Aug.11th in Lincoln Park, shows a man creeping around a woman’s windows at 7:45 a.m. Fortunately, she wasn’t home at the time.
“He came back…for the fifth time,” the woman said as she posted the footage to the Neighbors camera network. “He had a cig, opened both my window panes and screen somehow, took some pictures on his phone, took his d**k out, stuck his whole arm in my window, and pulled the blanket off the bed.”
We’ve shortened the video to save you from seeing some of the man’s, uh, behavior.
The woman got an alert about the peeping perv and got on her bike to confront him. He was one slithering step ahead of her, though. “I was able to chase him in his car for a while…a champagne colored Chrysler van. Big dent on the left side of the back hatch and black bumper sticker the right.”
You may remember reading about the incident in a report that we posted later the same day.
Lakeview case
Even though last weekend’s Peeping Tom in Lakeview reportedly drives a gold minivan, the woman said in a follow-up post yesterday that a detective thinks different men are involved.
Late Saturday night, a 28-year-old woman encountered a man who apparently brings porn with him and pleasures himself as he looks through victims’ windows. He’s a multitasker—cops say he also likes to play an erotic video on his phone or another device as he creeps around.
“This is a known violator who started in Uptown. He has now moved on to Wrigleyville and Lakeview,” according to a relative of the victim. Police reportedly believe the man targets women whom he sees returning to their homes. Saturday’s victim had been home just 20 minutes when she discovered the man outside her apartment.
Police did not have a description of the offender on Sunday. The Lakeview victim said the man was dressed in all black and wore a black hoodie. But other details such as his race and facial features were not discernible.
