3 juveniles charged with battering, robbing woman near Armitage Brown Line

Three juveniles punched a woman in the face and threw her to the ground during a robbery near the Armitage Brown Line station Friday evening, according to police. Charges are pending.

The victim, age 23, was walking on the 2000 block of North Sheffield when the boys tried to grab her purse around 10:30 p.m. When the woman maintained control of the bag, they punched her in the face and flung her to the ground before taking the purse and her Apple Watch, a police report said.

Cops arrested all three offenders on the Armitage station platform, 945 West Armitage, about 30 minutes later. The victim declined medical attention.

No further information is available about the three offenders because they are juveniles.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
