Lincoln Park: Charges filed in mugging near Fullerton CTA station

A Chicago man who allegedly battered and robbed a woman of her yoga mat near the Fullerton CTA station in Lincoln Park on Friday afternoon has been ordered held in lieu of $80,000 bail.

Ricardo Woods | CPD

The woman told police she was outside the station around 12:15 p.m. when Ricardo Woods, 36, wrestled away her mat and ran away. When police arrived, they saw a DePaul University security guard chasing Woods down the street.

Woods was arrested after the woman identified him as the robber. He was still carrying her yoga mat, prosecutors said.

Judge John Lyke said Woods, who is charged with one count of felony robbery, will need to post an $8,000 deposit bond to get out of jail.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
