A Chicago man is facing 15 felony burglary charges for allegedly forcing his way into numerous North Side apartment buildings to steal packages since late last year.
Police caught up with 65-year-old Louis Moneyham on the 1300 block of West Estes in Rogers Park last Thursday.
During a bond hearing, prosecutors said Moneyham broke into apartment buildings with a screwdriver and took parcels at least 15 times, beginning in October and continuing until he was caught last week. Moneyham has been identified on surveillance videos from every break-in, according to prosecutors.
He allegedly admitted to police that he used a screwdriver to access buildings and then took packages so he could sell the contents.
Judge David Navarro set bail at $5,000. Moneyham went home after posting a $500 deposit bond.
