Victim robbed at Lakeview bank ATM, cops say

Two robbers forced a man to withdraw money from a bank ATM in Lakeview on Thursday evening, police said. No arrests have been made.

The victim was in the parking lot of Chase Bank, 3335 North Ashland, when two men pulled up in a dark-colored car around 8:20 p.m., according to a CPD spokesperson. The offenders got out of the vehicle and ordered him to withdraw cash from an ATM where he had just deposited a check, the 25-year-old victim reported.

After getting $900 and the victim’s phone, the offenders returned to their car and drove away.

Area Three Detectives are investigating the robbery. Police did not provide a description of the offenders.

On July 25, two men approached a woman outside a Chase Bank in Lincoln Square and forced her to withdraw cash from the branch ATM and from a teller, police said at the time.

Those offenders got away with about $4,000 of the victim’s money.
