Police are investigating a strange incident in the Loop on Sunday evening that involved a bullet-riddled car, a brief chase, a car crash, and a driver who claims he was shot in the butt over a week earlier.

A suburban man with an expired license was driving the wrong way in a parking lane at a speed too fast for rainy conditions when he struck and killed a pedestrian in the Loop on Friday evening, prosecutors said.

Large groups of teenagers have surrounded and robbed victims in Grant and Millennium Parks twice since May 21, police said in a community alert Saturday.
