2 men injured in separate Rogers Park drive-by shootings

Two men were injured in separate drive-by shootings in the Rogers Park neighborhood late Friday and early Saturday, according to Chicago police. Both victims were in good condition, and no arrests have been made, police said.

First, a 29-year-old man was shot in a drive-by as he sat in his car on the 7300 block of North Paulina around 10:51 p.m., according to a CPD statement. The victim told police a gray Accura circled the block several times, and someone in the car opened fire on him about the fourth time they passed by.

He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston with a gunshot wound to his right foot.

Then, around 12:24 a.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man was shot as he walked on the 1500 block of West Jonquil Terrace. The victim told police someone fired shots from a gray SUV, striking him one time in the foot. Police found ten rifle casings at the scene.

Police did not release descriptions of either gunman. Area Three detectives are investigating. The victims are the fifth and sixth persons shot in Rogers Park this year.
