A 22-year-old man suffered three graze wounds to his head Tuesday night when someone from another vehicle opened fire on his car on Lake Shore Drive in Streeterville, police said. It’s the second time in two days that shots were fired in the same area, but no one was injured in the first incident.
Police said the man was stopped at a red light on southbound Lake Shore Drive at Chicago when an SUV pulled up next to him, and its occupants began yelling gang slogans at him. Someone in the other car, a white Buick SUV with temporary Indiana plates, began shooting as the man drove away around 11:33 p.m., according to police.
The victim pulled his car over near Ohio Street. Police said three bullets grazed the man’s head. His passenger was not injured. An ambulance transported the victim to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition.
On Monday, police found four shell casings and a live bullet after shots were fired near Lake Shore Park on the 200 block of East Pearson around 1:43 a.m. That’s about a block from where Tuesday’s shooting occurred. No one was injured in the earlier incident.
