A woman managed to fend off a man who attacked and tried to sexually assault her in West Town early Saturday, police said. The offender remains at large.
The 28-year-old woman was walking in the 400 block of North Morgan when she noticed a white four-door Buick rolling behind her around 12:05 a.m., according to a community alert from CPD. Police said the man got out of his car, ran up behind her, and forced her into a vacant lot.
There, he reportedly beat the woman and tried to sexually assault her behind a bulldozer. But he quit and ran back to his car when she began screaming for help, police said.
Police said the offender is Black, between 20- and 30-years-old who stands about 5’10” tall. He weighs about 200 pounds, has dreadlocks, and wore a blue face mask, white t-shirt, and black sweatpants, according to the alert.
