Chicago police now have surveillance video of a man who has been involved in a string of robberies and shootings in North Lawndale. CPD issued an alert about the crime pattern last week. Now, they’re updating their bulletin with video footage of a suspect.

CPD said the first shooting and robbery occurred in the 1500 block of South Spaulding on February 20. A couple was having a conversation when two robbers confronted them with a handgun around 2:43 a.m. One of the robbers butted into the conversation and shot the 36-year-old male victim in the foot during the holdup, according to CPD.

The newly released video comes from the next robbery, which occurred at 1:27 a.m. on April 4 in the 2700 block of West Harrison. CPD said a solo gunman shot and robbed a 58-year-old man during an altercation over the victim’s property. Video footage shows the man walking around the neighborhood and carrying a beverage. Five days later, another shooting and robbery occurred in the 3800 block of West Harrison. CPD said a 56-year-old man was inside a vehicle when two robbers approached and one displayed a gun around 4 a.m. The pair asked the victim for money, but he refused to give it to them. CPD said the victim tried to drive away, but the gunman shot him in the neck, causing the victim to crash. He was in critical condition.

Police said the robbers are Black men between 20 and 35 years old. They’re 5’11” to 6’2” tall and 170 to 220 pounds. One wore a black coat with a white reflective emblem, black sneakers with a white “swoosh,” and a partial face mask.

Area Five detectives are handling the investigations. They can be reached at 312-746-8253 regarding crime pattern #25-4-011.
