A Chicago man who fired into a car and stole another at gunpoint during a 2021 carjacking rampage on the West Side has been sentenced to 18 years in federal prison. Prosecutors said Kiar Evans, 26, showed a “total disregard for the safety and well-being of others” and was lucky no one was seriously hurt. His brief getaway ended in a crash, and officers found a fully automatic Glock on him.
