Nearly two weeks after an arsonist killed a family of four in West Englewood, officials are renewing their appeal for information and offering a reward of up to $10,000 for tips that lead to an arrest.

Cook County Crime Stoppers announced the reward as detectives continue searching for the person responsible for the deadly fire that broke out around 1:50 a.m. on May 21 in the 6200 block of South Paulina Street, killing Reginald Wilson, Lisa Brown, and the couple’s two children.

Hoping to generate new leads, the crime-fighting group’s volunteers and CPD detectives will canvass the neighborhood on Wednesday evening, speaking with residents, distributing information about the case, and encouraging anyone with knowledge of the crime to come forward.

Crimes Stoppers on Tuesday released a surveillance image of the arson suspect and announced a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest or indictment of anyone responsible for the fire.

“Our volunteers will be working side-by-side with Area 1 Detectives to reach residents in the neighborhood where this tragedy occurred,” Cook County Crime Stoppers Executive Director Paul Rutherford said in a statement. “Someone knows who is responsible for this crime. We encourage anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously and help bring justice to this family.”

Officials said tipsters can remain anonymous, will not be required to provide their names, and will receive a code number that can be used to claim a reward if their information leads to an arrest or indictment. Cook County Crime Stoppers can be reached by calling 1-800-535-7867 or by submitting a tip online at CPDTIP.com. The group emphasized that tipsters can remain anonymous throughout the process.
