Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest after a mass shooting on the West Side left one man dead and three others wounded Monday evening.
The shooting happened around 7:25 p.m. near the intersection of Madison and Lockwood, where four men were standing on the sidewalk when an SUV pulled up alongside them, CPD said. A gunman inside the vehicle opened fire before the SUV sped away, according to Chicago police.
A 32-year-old man was struck in the face and was later pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital. CPD said a 34-year-old man was in critical condition, and the other victims, men ages 36 and 27, were in good condition.
“These senseless acts of violence continue to devastate families and neighborhoods throughout Cook County,” said Paul Rutherford, executive director of Cook County Crime Stoppers. “We are asking anyone who may have seen something or knows who is responsible to do the right thing and come forward. Even the smallest piece of information could help investigators bring justice to the victims and prevent future violence.”
Area Four detectives are investigating. The reward is valid for 60 days and applies to information leading to an arrest or indictment. Anyone with information can call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-535-7867 or submit a tip online at www.CPDTIP.com. Callers can remain anonymous and will be given a confidential code number to claim any reward.
