Prosecutors have charged a Streeterville man in connection with the sexual assault of a 3-year-old girl in a restroom at the former Rock & Roll McDonald’s on Monday morning, according to a CPD media release.

Christopher Puente, 34, is accused of pulling the girl into a bathroom stall at the restaurant, 600 North Clark, and sexually assaulting the child around 8:20 a.m.

A 35-year-old man who reportedly saw the incident immediately called police.

Detectives released surveillance images of a suspect on Tuesday and asked for the public’s help in tracking him down.

Puente was arrested hours later when he allegedly refused to leave a condo building on the 500 block of North Dearborn around 1 a.m. on Wednesday. Officers at the scene immediately recognized Puente as the person who was being sought for questioning in the sexual assault case.

Prosecutors charged Puente with one felony count of criminal sexual assault of a victim under age 13 and misdemeanor criminal trespassing. He is due in bond court this afternoon.
