A 19-year-old man was shot he stood on a Rogers Park sidewalk overnight, police said, making him the neighborhood’s fourth shooting victim in five days and the fifth in a month.
The victim was in the 1400 block of West Jonquil Terrace when shots were fired, and one bullet struck him in the lower left leg around 2:06 a.m., according to CPD dispatch records. He called police a short time later from his nearby apartment.
A witness reported seeing a man standing in front of the victim’s apartment building firing shots around the time of the shooting, CPD records show.
