A shooting left two men injured in the West Loop overnight, Chicago police said. One of the victims works for a nightclub near the shooting scene, but its Google listing indicates that the business is not open on Thursday nights.

Police responded to calls of people shot in the 1400 block of West Lake around 3:15 a.m. According to a CPD statement, witnesses told them that a man fired shots toward a group of people on the sidewalk from a black sedan, then drove away.

A 46-year-old man was shot in the leg, and a 48-year-old man was shot in the shoulder, police said. Both victims were taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

Cops found nine shell casings at the scene. Witnesses said a Hispanic man wearing a face mask and blue jeans fired the shots, then fled in a black Infiniti, according to initial information from the scene. He was last seen driving south on Ogden Avenue.

The shooting occurred less than a block from where a driver intentionally ran over and killed a pedestrian last weekend, according to police. Charges have been filed in that case.
