CPS student gets 5 years for bringing a machine gun to school (but he won’t serve any actual prison time)

Prosecutors say 20-year-old Marquis Terry was sent home for smoking marijuana during a March 2024 trip, prompting a principal to search his locker. Inside was a stolen Glock with an extended magazine and an illegal “switch” for fully automatic fire. Terry, already on probation and parole, pleaded guilty to possessing a machine gun and received 5 years. With sentencing credits, he won’t spend time in prison.
